Bradley M. Smiley, Mayor Message from the Mayor Welcome to our city. I hope after you have been here for a while you, too, will know what a great city we live in. We have approximately 800 residents and are growing. We are a full service city with twenty-four/seven police protection, a volunteer fire department and EMT certified ambulance crews. The Senior Citizens Center provides daily activities and the Carnegie Library strives to meet the needs of the community. Our downtown business community hosts outstanding merchants that allow the city to remain self-sufficient. Be sure to visit them on our business page. The summer recreation program for area youth includes basketball, baseball, softball and much more. Once again, thank you for choosing Canton.
